Junior Bake off viewers left ‘screaming’ after fan favourite Zoe DROPS her showstopper

Junior Bake Off contestants faced another day of disaster as fan favourite Zoe dropped her showstopper dessert.

On episode four of the Channel 4 contest, Zoe, 10, from Nottinghamshire, made a ‘Frankendessert’ by mixing an Eton Mess with blueberry pancakes.

But just as host Harry Hill told the bakers their time was up, Zoe knocked over her showstopper, breaking up the heart-shaped meringues.

Unfortunately the blunder led to her being eliminated from the competition.

It comes just a day after the pressure mounted for Vaughan, 13, Zoe, and Amal, 13, whose bakes all came tumbling down in bread day.

Presenting her dessert to judges Prue Leith and Liam Charles, Zoe said: ‘My Frankendessert is blueberry pancakes with meringue, at this current moment.

‘It was meant to have blueberry sauce and a cream. But I dropped it, so it all kind of fell out’.

Despite fears that the dish wasn’t palatable, Prue reassured Zoe: ‘Don’t worry, we’ll be able to try it’.

Liam added he loved the meringues around the top, while Prue said the hearts were ‘charming’.

‘The pancake is really nice, especially with the little pieces of meringue in the middle’ Liam said.

While Prue added: ‘Perfect meringue soft in the middle, just how I like them.  But my quarrel with blueberries is that it can be quite an unfortunate colour, it makes them look really grey.’

Commenting on her own desserts, Zoe said: ‘It looked tolerable, I’m nervous that I might go home, but I hope I’ll scrape through.
